Time at the ranch is pretty simple.
The boys train, eat, pitch in, and spend time with dependable men.
James does not call caring for the fatherless a part of religion, or evidence of it. He calls it religion in its pure form. In Scripture, fatherlessness is the picture of our condition and adoption is the picture of our rescue. We are simply doing downstream what has already been done for us.
Jesus is at the center.
That is where the rest of it starts. We read Scripture, pray, and talk about real life at home, at school, and out in the world.
