A third of the boys in Fort Worth, Texas are growing up without a dad.
Weā€™re building them somewhere to go. Twenty-nine acres in Aledo. Free athletic training, a hot meal, and Christian discipleship every single afternoon, from men who donā€™t quit on them.
We close on the land October 6. Then we have to build it.
Most of the people who give to this give $5, $10, or $25 a month. We want a thousand more of them. Large gifts got us to a contract on the land. What keeps a place like this open is a lot of ordinary people sending something every month and not quitting.
Give NowBoys come after school. They train, they eat, and they get discipled.
A boy shows up around 3:30 and goes home at 6:30. He sleeps in his own bed. He comes back the next day.
He lifts. He gets coached on speed and position work by men who competed at the highest level there is. Thatā€™s why he comes, and weā€™re fine with that being the reason.
At 5:30 everybody eats at the same table, men and boys. Then we open the Word with him. Anybody whoā€™s raised a teenage boy knows you get more out of him over a plate than across a desk.
The training is the door. Discipleship is the point, and we tell him that on day one.
